The Ports Natural Park or also called Els Ports, is known for its rugged mountainous terrain, with peaks reaching over 1,200 meters high. The landscape is characterized by deep valleys, rocky cliffs, and extensive pine forests, as well as being home to a wide variety of fauna and flora. This limestone massif is located between Catalonia, Valencia, and Aragon, and in the case of the Catalan part, it was declared a natural park in 2001.

Within the natural park, there are two different climates: on the south-eastern slope the landscape has a Mediterranean influence, while on the western side, the temperature is cooler and the humidity is higher.

Visitors to Parc Natural dels Ports can enjoy a range of outdoor activities, such as canyoning, via ferrata, rock climbing, and other outdoor activities. All activities must be carried out in compliance with the regulations of the natural park, taking care of the environment and requesting the different permissions necessary to carry out some activities in which it is necessary.

All our activities are carried out within protected natural areas or within the natural park.

The European Charter for Sustainable Tourism (CETS) is a EUROPARC initiative whose overall objective is to promote and maintain the development of sustainable tourism in Europe’s protected natural areas. The CETS is a method and a voluntary commitment to apply the principles of sustainable tourism, both for managers of protected natural areas and companies working in these areas.

From Les Roques Natura, we are adhered to the Charter, with the commitment to work with the maximum possible sustainability and promote all good practices inside and outside the natural areas. In all our activities we take care of the maximum detail to preserve the wonderful environment that surrounds us.

In collaboration with the Els Ports Natural Park, we are working to contribute to the development of sustainable tourism with the following actions (2024-2027):

• Participate in the Catalan Tourism Agency’s work programs.
• Provide information to the PNS about detected incidents.
• Systematically collect trash on each guided group outing.
• Create a website dedicated to sustainability and CETS.
• Limit the impact of groups by reducing the maximum number of participants.
• Implement a new wetsuit cleaning protocol.
• Collaborate with other companies in the Park, especially with CETS companies.
• Promote canyoning formations during the off-season.
• Create a new activity combined with honey tasting, a local and traditional product from Arnes.
