Els Ports Arnes
Arnes is a town and municipality in the region of Terra Alta, in the province of Tarragona and bordering Aragon. Situated at the southern end of the region, the village is located on a small hill at an altitude of 508 m with spectacular views of the Ports Natural Park.
After a period of rural exodus, a common occurrence throughout the region, in recent years the village has strongly developed the offer of active, rural, and cultural tourism, thanks to its location close to the Natural Park of Els Ports, its cultural heritage and the offer of rural accommodation.
One of the points of interest in the village is the town hall, one of the most important civil constructions of the Catalan Renaissance, built in 1584 by Joan Vilabona de Queretes. In 1992, the town hall was declared a Historic Site by the Generalitat de Catalunya.
Els Ports Natural Park has several climbing and canyoning areas for beginners as well as for more experienced people.
